Kevin Stanley, ACE, AFAA, Certified Personal Trainer, FTCT
My interest in fitness started at the age of ten when friends and I from the neighborhood began to lift weights in a garage. This led and inspired me to write my high school term paper on fitness. As my interest grew, I decided to make a career in the fitness business. I attended University of Alabama at Birmingham and completed a Bachelors degree as a Fitness Specialist with a minor in Community Health. For almost 20 years I have worked as a personal trainer and finally the dream of owning my own business became possible. In January 2004 I opened Fitness Together in Carefree Arizona and became a part of the world’s largest personal training studio franchise.
Personal Training Background:
Always being athletic as an adolescent, I was amazed by the bodybuilders on television. This inspired me to change my physique and set personal goals of development and success. Instead of wasting time guessing, I decided to take a clinical approach and educate myself in the areas of health, fitness, and nutrition. As my success as an amateur bodybuilder progressed to the national level in the late 1980’s I was constantly being approached to help others reach their fitness goals. Eventually I returned to bodybuilding competition in 1999 to win the Mr. Alabama title. Since then I have dedicated countless hours making a career from sharing my knowledge and training experience with others. As always, I encourage clients to them to incorporate every component of fitness into a balanced lifestyle.
Training Experiences:
Tailoring exercise, nutrition, and injury rehabilitation programs, performing fitness testing, and one-on-one private has primarily occupied my time over the past decade.
These wellness programs have been designed for a wide range of individuals, including adults, adolescents, athletes, geriatrics, and special populations. Being employed at a local hospital as a Physical Therapist Technician has given me the competence needed to implement effective rehabilitation routines. In addition, my national level status as a bodybuilder has given me the opportunity to be invited as a guest speaker, make training videos, and perform informative seminars.
Training Philosophies:
My job as a personal trainer is to help my clients get the results they want while improving and maintaining good health. I believe in listening to my clients and trying to understand their needs. I stress exercising safely, enjoying oneself, setting attainable goals, and staying motivated.
Specialties:
Customizing exercise and nutrition programs to target areas the client wishes to improve. Creating a comfortable, yet professional environment so the client may express questions and comments concerning their fitness goals.

Cindy Stanley
My interest in fitness began working as a registered nurse in pediatrics. Assisting with wellness programs for children in physical and occupational therapy has given me the necessary experience to understand the function of body mechanics. Also, I had the opportunity to use my medical knowledge in assisting adult patients with post cardiac rehab therapy.
I enjoy hiking, mountain bike riding, and working out. Once I became a certified personal trainer at Fitness Together the importance of exercise became even more evident. I can see the client’s positive changes from an objective point of view with the results of their fitness evaluations and knowing I’ve been a part of this progress has been rewarding. One of the most underrated aspects of exercise is the affect it has on a client’s mental well-being. The clients that are most consistent seem to be in a great mood and have a positive outlook on everything.
Lately there has been a change in personal training. Now a trainer doesn’t have to implement a weight training program to get results. New technology with medicine balls, bands, balance disks, stability balls, functional mat training has allowed the trainer to get results from resistance training without necessarily using “weights”.
Fitness Together is a refreshing change when it come to personal training. The clients don’t have to be concerned about crowds since it is always just one client and one trainer in each fully equipped private room. As a trainer, I get much more accomplished with my client in this environment. Simply put, we offer a more mature and professional surrounding as opposed to a public gym that can be intimidating and confusing.

Born in Illinois, I began working out and teaching others to exercise at age 17. After moving to Arizona in 1995 I have been consistently involved with helping others reach their fitness goals. Now that I have become a certified personal trainer at Fitness Together Carefree, I’m able to diversify my training techniques to make a clients program effective and fun.
As a mother of three, I enjoy spending time with my family. I encourage my family to stay active, so naturally we have fun hiking, camping, rock climbing and four wheeling. I have a goal to complete the Eco-Challenge, white water rafting, and climb Angel’s Landing at Zion in Utah.
Being an Aerobic and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), group fitness instructor for eleven years and an AFAA certified personal trainer for seven years has given me the knowledge and experience to give clients variety with their programs which yields results and less boredom. My continuing education and experience in Pilates, Kickboxing, Step Aerobics, Pre/Post Natal pregnancy, Senior/Kids fitness and Core training gives me the ability to offer an array of one-on-one training sessions. Also, I have special interest and experience with sports specific training with amateur as well as professional athletes.
Ultimately, I want to pass on to others the importance of being active. It is always so rewarding to see positive changes in a clients life and knowing I was a part of that inspires me everyday.

As a California native, I started my passion with health and fitness over 25 years ago as a way of improving my conditioning level for competitive motorcycle racing. This interest has eventually led me to become a certified personal trainer at Fitness Together in Carefree. This sport specific training for motorcycle racing expanded to a broader range of training techniques to improve my athletic ability for high school sports. After high school, I pursued a career in construction which was physically demanding and required me to maintain a high level of physical fitness for safety as well as job performance.
This fitness background evolved into a constant interest in nutrition, injury rehabilitation, competitive power lifting, and helping others with the knowledge I have acquired over the past couple of decades. In addition, I enjoy motorcycle riding, muscle cars, working out for overall fitness, and home improvement projects.
Being employed at Fitness Together for over 2 years has expanded my knowledge of fitness to a new level. Customizing clients training programs based of their fitness level, health history, and individual goals has become my specialty. I really enjoy training clients one-on-one in my own private training room. It is much easier to understand the client’s goals and keeping them motivated when there are no distractions.
Whether the client’s goals are weight loss, improved balance, post injury rehabilitation, cardio respiratory fitness, muscular strength, muscular endurance, or flexibility I feel confident designing a program to meet their needs.

I have been involved in fitness and athletics since a child. This motivated me to attend and graduate from Grand Canyon University with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training in addition, I have recently acquired the prestigious Athletic Training Certification (ATC). I have gained over 1000 hours of experience in various athletic training rooms such as Phoenix College, Arizona Rattlers, Alhambra High School, and Strength Training Inc. My education has given me a firm foundation in the areas of exercise rehabilitation, strengthening, conditioning, and the care and treatments of athletic injuries. Not only have I focused my education on exercise, but I have also been involved in athletics as long as I can remember. I have played soccer since I was a child and pursued it into college. I have been honored with various awards throughout my soccer career and I firmly believe that has a lot to do with my exercise habits that I am happy to share with my clients at Fitness Together. Keeping my body conditioned helped me perform my best on the field as well as in life. That is my goal and purpose as a personal trainer; to enhance the client’s life though exercise. I have also participated in an NPC Bodybuilding Competition where I was awarded second place. This experience has given me knowledge in a much higher and intense level of exercises and diet.
After my soccer career ended I began to coach. I was the Women’s Assistant Coach at Phoenix College for two years and the girls Varsity Soccer Coach at Deer Valley High School for five years. The skills I acquired as a coach has helped me learn to successfully implement different exercise techniques during strengthening and conditioning.
I believe that exercise is essential to a happy life. I have been weight training since I was fourteen and I have found it to be a confidence booster, stress reliever, and unsurpassed way of improving one’s health. I have a passion for helping people get these benefits from exercise and being a trainer at Fitness Together allows me to do this
